Snow in Oklahoma!!

We actually had a white Christmas this year. Not just a white Christmas, but a really, really white Christmas. On Christmas day, after we were done with presents and eating, we went sledding! Yes, we actually do own sleds and live in Oklahoma. They were packed away in the wee corners of our attic, but we got them out and had a blast. Chris attempted to make a "snowboard" out of a cardboard box but in the end we just settled for the old fashioned disc sleds. It was a ton of fun. It took Kate a LONG time to even attempt it but once she did she didn't want to stop. She loved it!

The whole gang keeping warm!

This is when Kate wasn't too sure what to think about the whole sledding thing. I promise, by the time she went down twice, it was all she wanted to do all day.

"So, let's get this straight. You're gonna stick me on a piece of plastic and send me careening down a hill? I think I'll stay home and take a nap." He was so tired but he was a trooper!

Here's a pic of our backyard on Christmas morning. It was so gorgeous!! Looks like Utah, doesn't it?

Chase's first haircut

On Christmas Eve Chris' sister put Chase's hair in a pony tail. So, naturally, when we got home that night, Chris pulled out the hair clippers and Chase got his first haircut.

This is how we did it. Next time we'll put him in his highchair. Maybe that will work better.

And here's the pic of all his hair. Sorry, no pictures of the outcome. All you get is a handful of hair. :)

There's a first time for everything

I was sitting in Sunday School today and a friend came up to me and told me my daughter was throwing up in the nursery. So I jumped up and went to check it out and sure enough, there's my daughter puking over a garbage can. Poor thing. Poor teachers who got puked on. I felt really bad. She wasn't acting sick at all this morning or during Sacrament meeting. Who knows. Hopefully it's just a fluke and she'll be better soon. I didn't even have clothes for her to change in to so I just wrapped her in her blanket and took her back to Sunday School with me. (Thank goodness she takes that blanket everywhere!) Guess maybe I should keep an extra t-shirt in the car for Kate from now on.

Happy Sabbath!!

Christmas pics

Here's our children modeling their cute Christmas outfits that Grandma C gave them. I must say we have some pretty cute kids! (not to brag or anything) :)

Can't you just feel the love in this picture? Chase adores Kate. It's so cute to see them playing together more and more as he gets older. It's a lot of fun.

The Nutcracker

Time to do some major updating! :0)

We sure had a ton of fun this holiday season. I was so looking forward to Christmas this year. Kate was soooo excited about the presents that she couldn't help but open a couple early (one of which was not hers). :) We did try to teach her that Christmas is not just about Santa Clause and presents. I think we were somewhat successful because today we were playing play dough and she wanted me to make a baby for her. So I did. Then, she rolled up some dough and called it "Joseph." And I looked at her little play dough "Joseph" and it really did look like the Joseph from our Nativity set (in an abstract, 2 year old kind of way).

I think she's a little obsessed with Joseph because the other day we were eating lunch and she looked at this picture of Jesus we have on the wall and she called him Joseph. I explained that it was Jesus and then she said "Jesus looking at me." I think we've now established who is Jesus and who is Joseph. Now we need to work on "Jesus mommy" and we'll at least have the basic story of Christmas down.

Anyway, we stayed here in Okyville for the holiday and Stacey and Andy came down (Chris' sister and her hubby). We went to The Nutcracker (the kids were awesome!! and Kate is now obsessed with ballerinas), ate TONS of good food, played in the snow, ate more food, watched some movies and just had a grand old time. It was like a two week long party. We've been recovering for the past week! :)

So, here's some pics of the Nutcracker to hold you over until I get around to posting some more.

Happy Holidays!!!!
