So I started this post a while ago, but never finished it...imagine that! :) In case you couldn't tell from the last post, I'm
prego! Yeah!! I'm 14 weeks and
definitely looking forward to the 2
nd trimester. I haven't been too sick, but I'm ready to be done with the nausea & food aversions. All in all though, it's been a pretty easy pregnancy so far.
What else?...oh yeah! College football has started up again. Chris - Mr. I don't like sports - has decided that
OU football is a great obsession. Thanks to our good friend, Steve, Chris was able to go to their first home game this season...his first experience attending a college football game. He started getting into it last year, but I think he finally caught the bug because the next week during the football game, this is what I found him and Kate up to:
Looks like she's enjoying it! Although I'm not sure if it's the game or the cell phone that has her so content. Chris enjoyed the Daddy-daughter time either way, plus
OU won!
In other Carson news, Kate is officially a milk-drinker! She LOVES milk! How could she not, when she's related to me? :) I can't wait to have her completely weaned. It's exciting that she's getting so big, but it's a little sad too. My baby girl is going to be dating before I know it!
And I finally caught the yoga princess on camera! She does the best Downward Facing Dog pose I've ever seen. Wouldn't you agree? :) This is what she does when she's getting tired. It's really entertaining. She likes to play peek-a-boo in this pose. For some reason it's funnier when the person's upside down.
And, finally here's a picture of Kate on her 11-month birthday. She's jabbering all the time now. She says something that sounds like "key-key" for "
blankey" and she has this "
where'd it go?" expression that she says, with the right inflection and everything, when she's looking for something. It's too cute! Today I was feeding her dinner at about the time Chris usually comes home and she kept jabbering away like "
Where'd it go?" and I was trying to figure out what she was looking for. Then she started saying "
da da da da" over and over. I realized she was asking where
da da was so I told her that
da da would be home soon and then she stopped jabbering and went back to eating! I love that I'm starting to understand her jabbers. She's also walking along furniture and starting to let go of things for a split second, but still no signs of wanting to walk on her own. Last week she held on to my fingers and took a few steps, which was a first. Usually when we grab her hands she drops straight to her knees instead of trying to walk.
Oh! Other exciting news! We officially have jalapenos growing!! They're so cute! I can't believe how excited I am about some silly peppers. It's pretty pathetic, I know, but there's something amazing about seeing them grow from little seedlings to now full-grown, fruit-bearing, pepper plants. I'll try to grab some pictures of the green beauties soon.
